| In 2004, SPW recruited 141 volunteers who joined national volunteers on SPW programs in Africa and Asia . Partnerships between national and international volunteers continue to foster international understanding and youth solidarity. School and University talks undertaken by returned volunteers, in the US, Europe and Australia, and growing campaign activities promote and highlight the role of young people in development while raising awareness of development challenges facing young people in Africa and Asia. |

Currently SPW Australia is starting up its Returned Volunteer Network and Action Group! |
| |

|
A group of dedicated volunteers meet once every six weeks to discuss social justice issues and ways of being active, not just overseas with SPW, but in Australian communities as well.
We believe that being active and aware of ongoing issues, does not end when you return home from travelling overseas and working in developing countries. Rather, using the skills learnt from those experiences people can participate through sharing the values and ideals that worked so well overseas with others who are involved within Australian communities. |
| |
The SPW Action Group is open to ANYONE interested in development, sustainable projects, social justice issues, volunteering, exchanging information and generally people wanting to share experiences and ideas within a non-formal, social environment. Each meeting will include a guest speaker to talk with the group and share ideas, past experiences and successful ways to become more involved in our own communities and systems.
If anyone would like to attend an SPW Action Group meeting, please feel free to RSVP via spw@spw.org.au and extend this invitation to any friends, family or acquaintances that you feel would be interested.
